My onthou
Vanoggend hoor ek jou naam
In ‘n oogwink staan ek alweer op die rand van my afgrond
Ure gaan verby
Die hemel word ‘n helder vlam
Sodat die maan gesigloos kan word
Soos my onthou van liefde:
My liefde vir jou
Die aarde se tong
Altyd in my mond

* * *

Eina Plekkie
Waar ek my eina plekkie wegsteek
Is ‘n baie bekende eiland
Daar is rotse en ‘n diep see
Al vir ‘n ewigheid en gister;
Vang die koel see-wind gedagtes
Die hoe see spoel die seer en ou waarhede met genaadelose geduld weg
Jy is welkom hier meneer;
Wanneer jou hart na my toe kom in die nag
Eet ons vye en drink ons die wyn op die maat
Van die see se heen en weer

About this prince
Once upon a time, in a in a small village in a big kingdom, there lived a prince. Some thought the prince fair and wooed him; others befriended him for his insights and sharp tongue; while others still formed close and long-lasting bonds with him when they realised his kind nature.
No hero is without his enemies and as such our prince also had to deal with his share of evil queens who begrudged him for their own private reasons. But as the prince always tried to remind himself: "You can't win 'em all."
Ever since he was a boy the prince had known he had a duty to pass on knowledge. So he studied hard and in time became a wise man. The young man had in the meantime also left his parents' respective castles and had found a nice tower of his own, dividing his time between his duties, his friends and family.. Although not exactly lonely, our prince had always felt a longing to share his thoughts and emotions with another. He dreamt of striking sorcerers casting a spell on him, of knowledgeable kings offering him their kingdom, of kind knights carrying him off into the sunset, and - in his darker fantasies - of brawny brigands dragging him to their lair
Somewhat used to getting what he wanted, the prince set out to meet this dream man. And sure enough, he met his fair share of sorcerers and knights but none of them seemed to share the same visions of what love should be. Some came very close but our prince was not the only man in the kingdom and he was certainly not the only one who dreamed of brawny brigands.
Spells were broken, knights rode off into the sunset and those brigands...well, they turned out to be brigands.
To this day our hero looks for his vision of honesty, beauty and intelligence; the mystery man who will charm him and will be enchanted by him...
